Coco Jones announced Thursday (Feb. 20) that she’ll be dropping her debut album Why Not More on April 25 via Def Jam Recordings.
“It’s FINALLY here,” she wrote on X with a crying emoji. “My DEBUT album ‘Why Not More’ is dropping 4/25 and will be available for pre-order tonight 9pm PST.”
Jones released a handful of singles last year, including her Grammy-nominated hit “Here We Go (Uh Oh),” which was up for best R&B song and best R&B performance at this year’s awards show. “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” also became her first No. 1 on Adult R&B Airplay and received a remix with Leon Thomas. She’s set to release a new single, “Taste,” on Friday, Feb. 21, and is celebrating its release with a pop-up in West Hollywood, Calif.
Why Not More will arrive three years after her last project, What I Didn’t Tell You. The seven-track EP (with four more songs on the deluxe) included her breakout hit “ICU,” which became her career-first entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 62. “ICU” was nominated for best R&B performance and best R&B song at the 2024 Grammy Awards, winning the former, while Jones was up for best new artist, What I Didn’t Tell You (Deluxe) was up for best R&B album, and her “Simple” collaboration with Babyface from his 2022 album Girls Night Out was up for best traditional R&B performance.
